"Season's Greetings"

Dean Martin
Audio CD: FDO 1992-01-01
Label: EMI-Capitol Special Markets
"CEMA Special Markets' Season's Greetings from Dean Martin contains ten songs culled from hilarious Christmas albums and singles Dino recorded for Capitol Records during the '50s. Although the disc might not be an official album, it plays like one, since all the arrangements are quite similar and place the emphasis on Martin's easygoing charm, which is perfectly suited for such songs as "White Christmas," "Baby, It's Cold Outside," "Winter Wonderland," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "The Christmas Blues." Dean Martin's holiday specials qualified as "must-see TV" decades before that phrase was coined. His easygoing charm and velvety smooth voice won over a generation of fans in the 1950s and 1960s--and still holds sway over modern-day hipsters. This holiday album helps to show why. Never one for cheap sentiment, Dino sticks to the sultry ballads that he knows so well, emphasizing tunes like "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" over traditional carols. Enjoy!......at 320.0 kb/sec!"
